Gulfstream Energy - history in the making

05 July 2017

The arrival of oil tanker Marlin Ammolite in the Eastern mole of Cape Town harbour on 3 July signalled the beginning of a new era in fuel distribution for Gulfstream Energy.

“We have prepared for this moment since the announcement of the construction of the Burgan Cape Terminal storage facility in the eastern mole of Cape Town Harbour in 2015,” says Shane Jegels, CEO, Gulfstream Energy.

It was a privilege to witness the Marlin Ammolite pushed into berth by the tugs, and we were thrilled to share this historic moment with many of our Western Cape customers.

Our investment in bringing fuel into the storage facility enables Gulfstream to significantly expand our footprint in the Western Cape.

The newly built Burgan Cape Terminal is a multi-purpose facility used for the storage and distribution of both locally produced and imported fuels, and will improve Gulfstream’s ability to reliably supply its customers even further, specifically with ULP95 and Diesel 50ppm. Our customers in the Western and Northern Cape can be assured that they will not be adversely affected by fuel shortages which often plague this region.
